It is very nice to arrive in the forest or in a natural park, and, be surrounded by silence, breathe the pure air, and listen the singing of the birds, without worrying about anything at all, and without having to wonder where we are going to sleep at night. And we even say many times’ that we want to be free like birds, and now I wonder, are birds really free?
I do not want to extend myself too much, but I think that is not how we think. Birds live in all that natural space, and It have to fight for their food, for their children, for their home, and, for their survival. Here is an example of the reason for my reflection; let’s see the first picture.
I was in the Fairchild Botanical Garden, as usual walking and looking for something of interest to photograph when suddenly I see that woodpecker on a palm in front of a hole which I suppose he did some time ago, or maybe he is exploring it to use it again.
As there is no housing law among animals, the following happened:
Suddenly a crow appeared, displacing the woodpecker from its place, the latter offered little resistance and left immediately, everything seems to indicate that the crow was already the owner of that house according to the law of animals. It amuses me to see how the woodpecker has an expression of fright and the crow as a look of character, of course, for them, it is the daily fight in the open air, and they should not be given any grace. The poor woodpeckers make the nest, and they can be stripped by others. Finally, my carpenter friend was not discouraged and resigned himself to building another hole, as shown in the following image.
And now to start again in this coveted tree, let’s hope you know how to better defend the new house you will build. This is how I end this simple little story, but it reflects how animal life and its laws are, they work very hard to raise their children, protect them, look for their food and something very important to fight for survival. They deserve our respect and protection, since they are living beings who suffer and feel in their own way.
